Fine Italian Foods

Having moved to El Cajon in 1973 from San Francisco finding an Italian Restaurant was first on my dining list. San Diego County is a BARREN WASTE LAND for good Italian Food. Little Italy was a total disapointment. Many of the so called Itailan Restaurants were a bust. I love good Veal Scalopini and most of the places did not know what good Veal tasted like. I was served a breaded Veal Cutlet covered with catsup as Scalopini in most of the places that I went to. I found Di Leones by accident reading the Penny Saver Adds and said what the heck lets try it. A TOTAL SUPRISE. The Scalopini was to die for, melt in your mouth, the rest of the menue was just a good. The staff was excellent, the atmosphere was casual and relaxing no rushing your meal. Not as in some of the ones in Little Italy, you've eaten now leave. The Owner walks amoung the customers saying hello to old customers and welcoming new ones. The aromas issueing from the kitchen want to make you order more. The Helpings that are on your plate are more then enough and if you are hungry when you leave you had best get to a doctor as something is wrong with you. The food was so good that we went back three (3) days in a row, and now go at lest once per week. I suffer from type 2 Diabetes, and after eating there my numbers WENT DOWN. The owner uses semolina pasta instead of flour and it makes a differance. Please try it, you'll like it.
