A lifelong Texas resident, Dr. Brecheen went to Forest Grove, OR, to earn his Doctorate of Optometry With Distinction, from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1990. He returned to Texas to begin his optometric career, providing primary care to Dallas County residents. While there, he continued his education and completed the University of Houston's Concentrated Ocular Therapeutics and Glaucoma Specialist Courses. He is continuing his education through the Optometric Extension Program Foundation and College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
