We went to Jtk with two other couples and all had the Date Night special. It was fantastic. We have a new favorite downtown restaurant. Everyone tried something different and it was all great.

Grisly steak

Admittedly, I ordered take-out but that was one tough, game-y buffalo steak! I've been to other fine dining restaurants where the buffalo steak was so tender...(sigh) just amazing! This was possibly the worst steak I've ever ordered--including Perkins, Denny's and the Waffle House! (yes, I do realize those are not fine dining restaurants where one hopes to get a good steak but JTK's buffalo ribeye ranked right in there despite a $45 price tag after tip.) Ordered rare which while in transit to the hotel usually cooks more to a medium rare or medium but received a medium from the get-go. No flatware provided (am I really going to eat steak with my hands?) and had to request bread as well as butter. The ceasar, at least take-out portion is very small and does taste of anchovies. Despite requesting a light amount of dressing, it was pretty liberally applied. The lettuce did seem fresh, crisp and tasty however.

Just in case you're still interested, the atmosphere is probably what one would consider "cozy," a small restaurant, dark walls, dark booths, dim lighting, dark shutters which are also closed (what do these people have against light?). It's located in a cool historic district worth checking out. They seemed to have an extensive wine and liquor bar, but I was driving so no drinking for me.

You're welcome to check JTK's out. As for me, I have had significantly better food, even in hotel restaurants, and will be looking elsewhere. Bon appetite!
