We are living in a new high-rise building with many flats. Wholesale Floors (WF) did the floors. However, several flats were noticed to have wrongly installed floors, caps between the planks and "bulging" floors. Many flats had to get new floors already during the first few months. Our floor had caps between the planks, so WF had to do also our floors again.

New installation was ordered by WF but done by skilled installers. Unfortunately now this 8months old floor is braking. Inspector came to check the floors and I just got an email from WF that the claim goes this time to Shaw for "manufacturing defect" and they will "replace the 2 defective planks" which WF would do.

I’m not an engineer but I just wonder how do you replace one plank between the others when the floor planks are "clicked" together (tongue and groove) without first taking all the planks off up to the edge?

We have lived here for 16 months, now the second set of floors is braking, and WF/Shaw is offering to change couple of planks. Don't they take any pride of own work? WF might come back to ask me why I didn't give them a chance to correct? The first change was when they did the first floors (I would never dare to use those WF’s installers again). The second chance was when they tried to replace the floors with poor quality planks. They are missing even this third chance by missing the point. As someone told me - they would not sell these floors to anyone because it would destroy their own reputation. That is called the pride of own work.

We might do the same than some others in this building, get the 3rd set of floors (in only 16months!) but from a different company. For us, No more WF and No more Shaw-floors!
