I grew up on The Hill and my family still lives here. I was very disappointed with my current experience. We had to wait nearly 1.5 hours, the staff was not friendly and very "robotic" - no personalization at all....all business - "turn a table quick" feeling. For a restaurant on "The Hill", olive oil and parmesan cheese not even on the table as a "standard" and I felt like I was asking to gold when I requested these items. Paper napkins, cheap silverware, old fashion wine glasses, and an overall letdown. While the portions are large and the prices inexpensive - you get what you pay for. There are other places on The Hill that offer a better ambiance with a staff that takes an interest in their customers. In my opinion, LoRusso's in the place to go and if you are looking for good value for the price, Pasta House is even better than Cunetto's.

Good quality for the price

To dine here is always a pleasure for both myself and my family members. We totally love the food and the many choices we have here. We do dine out often and this is one of the BEST! The price is right for the great quality found here and the service is superior. Dining here makes just any day always something very special.

A local favorite of mine, even though I live in Texas now

Every time I go back to St. Louis, I go to Cunettos. Ah, the linguine tutto mare and tira misu. Plus the bar/waiting area makes me feel like I'm in an old Bogey movie and the mob could stroll in at any minute. A Hill institution, the waiting lines are legendary, but I've actually made friends hanging out in the smokey bar on a Saturday night. It's quintessential St. Louis.

General Info
Since 1972, the Cunetto family has consistently provided great food at great prices. With a spacious, nice, but casual atmosphere for diners, and a prime location right "on the Hill" and with plenty of parking, Cunetto's has become a place for both locals and tourists looking for the quintessential Italian meal! So come in and find out why Cunetto House of Pasta tops the Best Restaurants polls year after year. Anyone visiting St. Louis must try Cunetto's and make it as much of a destination as the Gateway Arch or the Zoo. It may be the highlight of the trip! Vince and Joe Cunetto were always cooking in the back room of their neighborhood pharmacy. The three legged, two burner countertop stove had to be held up with a coffee cup, but it did the job. Whether it was a big pot of soup or an old family pasta recipe, friends, local doctors, and drugs salesmen would gather in the small back office for a delicious meal. In 1972, the Cunetto brothers sold the pharmacy. Determined to stay on "The Hill" in the historic Italian section of St. Louis, they opened Cunetto House of Pasta in October 1974. Cunetto's, as it is most commonly called, still remains in the same location and continues to serve the same delicious traditional Italian cuisine since the very beginning. Over the years, Cunetto's has become a St. Louis tradition. Many families celebrate special occasions at Cunetto's or make Cunetto House of Pasta their regular Friday night restaurant.
