I went for a consult with Dr Severs for a laser treatment. In the consult I was told laser would help my facial veins but would not help correct the sun damage. I had Intense Pulsed light treatments in the past and he explained that IPL does address sun damage as well as facial veins. I couldn't find anyone in the area to do IPL so I decided to go forward with the laser. I paid my $75 consult fee and it was explained that will go towards my treatment, but I also had to put down another $50 to make the appt which I did. It was explained that If I had to cancel I would only be refunded the $50 which I thought was fair and paid the woman $125. I ended up finding an IPL provider in Allentown and called to cancel my appt. As it happens the office called my cell this morning at 8:13am to confirm my appt but I was at work so I called them back at 10:45am. I was just told that I was over the 48 hour window where I could cancel and get my $50 back. I am over it by TWO hours as my appt in in two days at 8:40 am. I pleaded and was flatly told they do not make exceptions and I would not be refunded. I asked if there was anything that could be done because its only two hours difference and was still rebuffed. I was told I signed a contract explaining the policy but that was never provided to me. The paperwork I have is Patient instructions and post op instructions no contract. I also explained that I was never told there was a time frame for cancellation and she basically called me a liar saying I must of been told. I'd avoid working with these folks as they are not reasonable in any sense of the word if you think you may not be able to make an appointment and will need to cancel. I cannot say enough good about Dr. Zenker and her professional staff. When my late wife was diagnosed with a rare form of melanoma, she went to Dr. Zenker for a "body mapping." Every year after that, she would go in for an additional examination.Dr. Zenker was very thorough, professional, caring and genuinely concerned with my wife's condition. Her personal attention to each patient is above and beyond what we have come to expect from very busy doctors. When Dr. Zenker is with you, you know she is giving you her full attention and at that time you are the only patient that she is concerned with. In addition, there is not a member of her staff that does not make you feel the same way. Always caring, yet confidential. The level of veracity and professionalism is unmatched, anywhere.Later, even after we moved away from Scranton, Dr. Z kept in touch and even took the time to call my wife personally and help her get enrolled in a new study for a promising medicine. She is the best!
