I wholeheartedly do NOT recommend this dance studio. My children took lessons from DeeDee for several years. I finally found out that she would belittle children and parents included. She will claim that, "the world is against her" and "poor dee dee this and poor dee dee that ", everyone is conspiring against HER... She will scream that she is in charge, the all mighty master of all. "Listen to her!" "I AM THE DIRECTION AND YOU W-I-L-L LISTEN TO ME!" Mind you, this may be a small child who just likes to twirl in her seat. But good ole Dee dee, instead of implementing appropriate redirection, will belittle the child, stand her in front of everyone and yell at her. "Satan is the room!" Take it from my wife and myself, this lady is one unmedicated nut case. Parents see it eventually, but don't want to lose the "great price" she offers. Maybe her rats, bees & freezing cold studio should tip people off. She may seem okay for awhile, but give her one recital to flip the heck out. Her boyfriend even screamed at the kids on one occasion, "If I have to tell you again, YOU WILL FALL THE GROUND IN FEAR!" Don't believe me on her loopy behavior? Listen to the end of the 2017 Nutcracker DVD. I'm not sure how many parents are aware of all this, so I'd highly encourage you to stick around from now on, instead of dropping your kids off.

My family and I have been a part of A Time to Dance since it opened. Three generations of my family have danced there. We think rather highly of the level of instruction and commitment to her students that the teacher has.

I will never bring my daughter to this dance studio again. As a former ballet dancer myself I knew what to look for in a decent studio and this one does not have it. DeeDee does not teach proper technique and has no discipline. Her students talk and laugh during barre combinations and run and skip around the floor in between combinations, and deedee doesn't care or do anything about it. She boasts about being a Christian studio but she will then cuss in front of little kids and their parents and brag about getting drunk with her friends (and even the older dancers!) over the weekends. My daughter and I felt very uncomfortable there. If you want a fun dance place that will still teach the technique and discipline, go to Creative Dance Arts or Danswest, where they actually care about their students progress and respect families!

A TIME TO DANCE IS RUN BY A TALENTED AND DEDICATED TEACHER WHO GIVES EVERY CHILD A CHANCE TO SHINE. MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN HAVE ALL BEEN HER STUDENTS, AND HAVE BENEFITED IN EVERY WAY FROM THE EXPREIENCE.

This is by all means considered to be a poor dance studio run by a teacher with little talent. She is generally considered to be rude and childish, more interested in her cats and self promotion than in her students. Having observed a few classes and having attended her horrendous production of The Nutcracker I would never consider sending my child to this studio.
