This is easily my favorite restaurant. The first time I came here my friend and I thought it looked shady from the outside but we were desperately hungry so we gave it a shot. The inside was a pleasant surprise. It's decorated with beautiful black and white photos of oak trees and artsy chandeliers. The servers are polite and the food is phenomenal. The bread.....so amazing and you can ask for as much as you want. My favorite dish is the California Caprese sandwich with the Caesar salad. I've been at least a dozen times since the first and I've never had a bad experience.

I decided to take my son and his family out for a nice lunch for father's day. This was our first visit to Ventura Spaghetti Company on Loma Vista Road in Ventura CA. And I can assure you, it will be the last. We walk into the door and notice that there were 3 tables with customers. Ok, it's not to busy, AHA! you would think!! The hostess was talking away with an old man and we waited 15 min to get seated from someone that just "happen" to see us from the back. Once we were seated, 3 other couples came in and were seated. They were served drinks and bread before we were asked to give our drink order. We gave our order and of course!! the incorrect order of drinks were brought. Go figure right? The waitress "Mallory" finally came over and took our order. My Daughter is allergic to Marinara sauce, so we asked that they use Alfredo on her chicken dinner. Mallory stated "No problem but it will be an extra charge. Once again we wait..... 25 min later our food comes to the table and low and behold my daughters chicken was sitting in Marinara sauce on the bottom and fettuccine sauce on the top like it was taken off another plate. This is after we witnessed and watched the waitresses giggling and talking in a corner instead tending to the customers. By this point we are hungry and very angry, we requested to speak to the manager. Mallory stated he just left and his name is Bruce. We asked for the person in charge and she stated there is 'no one in charge'. We demanded the bill and paid for what we ate and left a note for the manager stating the situation and to please contact us. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a dining establishment. If you would like good food and good service, DO NOT go to Ventura Spaghetti Company. There are SEVERAL Italian places with much better service and atmosphere. This really ruined our fathers day. Thanks VSC!!
