Head Start is a child and family development program that manages operations in Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop in Massachusetts. The program serves low-income families with children between the ages of 3 and 5. It offers courses and workshops in parenting skills, health, career planning, and child growth and development. Head Start also provides children with a classroom experience that is designed to grow them socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. The program offers opportunities to participate in a nutrition program that includes breakfast and lunch for afternoon sessions. In addition, it serves children with special needs. Head Start is one of the programs managed by CAPIC.
