I had my first visit to a Pep Boys today. I was 35 miles from home, and my 1994 Chrysler overheated. This was on a Sunday afternoon at 3:00. I pulled into the Brentwood YMCA parking lot and called AAA. A tow truck arrived about an hour and a half later, and towed me to the closest Pep Boys. I told them that my car had overheated, and they popped to hood and started looking. I had no coolant. They spent the next two hours, filling the radiator, checking to see if there appeared to be a cracked engine block, and preparing me for the worst. They drove it, everything looked ok, and then when they stopped, coolant started spewing out from the hood. Turned out the radiator cap was bad. They replaced it and drove it again. Everything was looking ok. They started totally up the numbers, and the manager said " It's going to be $438." I got out my card, ran it through, and they gave me my receipt. I put on my glasses .$4.38!" I couldn't believe it! Got home safely! Awesome place!
