Do not buy or have anything serviced here or you will be sorry. Rated "F" by BBB. I don?t usually write reviews good or bad but in this case I feel compelled to do so. I needed repairs under warranty for a lawn mower purchased elsewhere. I called the warranty company and they were very helpful until they told me that Allen Lawn Mower was the closest warranty repair shop. I said oh no because of previous bad experiences getting our equipment serviced there for our church several years ago. I thought oh well maybe they changed. The girl from the warranty company advised me that she will notify Allen regarding the repair and gave me a repair reference number and told me I was all set for the following day to call them to make arrangements for pick up (My warranty includes pickup and delivery). I called them several times the same day and at least several more times the following day and only got a busy signal. I checked the number several times to make sure it was correct.

Unfortunately, Zero stars isn't an option. Allen didn't have snow blower in stock but suggested I order on-line in mid December. I called after the new year and the explanation of a holiday slow down seemed believable. And then things went seriously downhill. No follow-up contact from Allen-my calls to them often weren't taken because they were too busy. Promises to return calls weren't kept. My $800 + plus payment was processed. So I was out $800 and now shoveling. Got a response to an e-mail that a credit was forthcoming. That wasn't completed. More calls from me were deflected and not returned. Had a phone call promise, initiated by me, that a credit would be processed that day. It wasn't. 8 weeks after the original order I finally reached a woman in the business office who DID finally process the credit. No apology, no explanation, no effort at customer retention. THE worst experience I've had in my life trying to make a significant purchase. Total disappointment.

I recently brought in a carb. from a craftsman 42" riding lawn mower and ask for it to be rebuilt. I picked up the carb. 2 days later and installed it. After 10 minutes of run time, the engine started to sputter, stalled and then the engine backfired and would not start again. We had a friend, who does small engine repairs, take a look at it. He found the carb rebuilt was done incorrectly. A gasket in the carb was installed backwards and the seat for the needle valve was missing. oil had to be changed because gasoline was found in the oil. after another rebuild that was done correctly, the engine has been running strong and smooth. I was always under the impression that this repair facility was a well known and a reputable shop. apparently I was misled.
