Over the last 16 years I have spent thousands of dollars at Platt Hill. Today I tried to return a $50 bird feeder and they wouldn't take it back because it was past 30 days of purchase. It was a squirrel proof feeder that fell out of the tree and won't stay in the tree anymore! I'm not really big on returning things, but I thought I had good cause. I purchased it on April 3 and on May 17 they told me they couldn't do anything about it. I normally shopped there because of the service and because it is a locally owned nursery. I have been extremely loyal to them. I am totally shocked and saddened by such abrupt and inflexible service. I'm sure the owner of the company would not appreciate their manager, Russell's, service. I will not be returning to this nursery. If they don't stand behind their products, what's the point of shopping local?
