I purchased 10 large shrubs from Bison last June. I had bought other plants from Bison before, and decided to use them for this large purchase (over $800) because they were local, dispite the availability of the same shrubs for less at Lowes, and because they assured me that even if I planted the bushes myself their warrenty displayed on their counter would apply (a guarantee that if a shrub dies within a year of purchase, bring the plant back with your receipt and it will be refunded at 50% of cost). Since I have horticultural and landscaping experience, I bought them and had the plants delivered to the home. We planted them properly and then wrapped them correctly in the fall to protect them from deer. While they seemed healthy in the fall, when spring came they were obviously not doing well and by May were mainly dead. I called Bison, explained the situation, and was told there was no warrenty on plants or shrubs. I asked to speak to a manager, was told none was available, then gave my information and was told I would be contacted after the weekend. Several days went by, no contact, so I went to the nursery and explained the situation again, asking only that someone come out and look at the plants and see if they could determine why the shrubs died and what we could do, since I had no means to transport ten 5 arborvitae back to the nursery, and was told that the owner Mike would get the info and come out and see the planting. Another week went by and no contact. I called again, and this time spoke to Mike. He expressed doubt and incredulity that all ten shrubs had died and said they must have been eaten by deer (they werent, not a nibble). He then agreed to send someone out to look at them. Another week, no contact. I called again, he seemed not to recall our conversation, and said he would go out, after telling me again that he wouldnt go out to look at deer eaten shrubs. Another week and no contact. I went to the nursery for the 3rd time, was told he wasnt available, and was given his personal cell number as his staff said hed complained that he wasnt getting calls relayed to him. I called again, and again, no response. This has been 7 weeks of frustration with nothing but near $1000 in dead shrubs to show for it. Please, same yourself a lot of money and time and shop elsewhere.

Year after year, we buy from Bison for ledge stone, shrubs, trees, and flowers. The owners are knowledgable and friendly. We have never had a problem, and their plants are healthy. On top of being a local, family business, their prices are good. Happy planting!

I hired Bison Nursery to do my front landscaping and am extremely unhappy with the service that they provided. It took them 2 months to finish the job and whenever I called the nursery, no one was able to speak to me & explain why it is taking so long to finish my landscaping. I would never recommend this company to my friends or family! They are very unproffessional and way over priced for the work they provided me!

I have been buying my plants and shrubbery from Bison Nursury for years. Great service and great quality products. I feel confident that when i buy from a local nursury like Bison the plants are healthy and are planted in nutrient rich soil to ensure better growth. Lowes, Walmart, etc... you can keep your low budget plants that look good for a week ... nothing more than a waste of money!! Buy local and you buy quality!!

So, I learn about this nursery from Seize the Deal after Bison put up $50 gift certificates for $24.. I bought a couple as there was no limit, great. So I put the baby in the car take the wife up on a long trip from Lockport just to check out this Nursery. We get there, in the rain, and there is a big sign "Seize the Deal vouchers not taken until further notice"... So I spent probably $12 in gas to go to a place that wouldn't accept something that they put out to draw people to their business!! What a great business practice. So, we left without any purchase from their location, I would never visit or purchase anything from Bison Nursery, ever! So now I will work with Seize the Deal to get my money back, or my credit card company and I will be telling my story about Bison to whoever will listen; at work, on facebook and on twitter! Welcome to the electronic age Bison!
