This is one lousy establishment! Don't waste your money, Iam totally shocked that they do the volume of business they do. Went there a few times simply because close always disappointed food just about ready for the garbage nothing s fresh, grinders rolls stale, the poorest possible quality produce. I brought peppers there the other day realized they rotten when got home went slice. Stay away from this place if you value fresh quality food. Better of with value meal McDonald's .

Unlucky other reviewer...

A long time New Britain resident, I knew there was a place called veggie world in that plaza, but it sounded like a health food place and I never stopped in.

One day I noticed the sign for 5$ grinders, and now it's our go-to place for them, along with my stop for affordable spices, good deals on produce usually much higher priced at other stores, and foreign snack foods.

The other reviewer mentioned that one of his grinders was meatball. IMO get hot grinders at a pizza place, not at a deli. They are a grocery store that took away some of the "veggie room" to add the deli (then started throwing together sandwiches for more profits)

Sometimes the bread is not super fresh, oh well. The employees have actually asked me if yesterday's bread was fine, because I was ordering at opening and they hadn't gotten their shipment in yet. At least half of the bread, when fresh, ends up going stale on me anyways because I can only manage to eat half a grinder at a time. 2 meals for that cost, not bad.

Some of the more popular meats/cheeses are now presliced for grinders during slow times, to speed along the day's rushes. Still a lot better than the thawed preservatives with a side of air and scrap of meat you'd get at a chain for the same or more money. I usually end up with sliced flavored chicken or turkey, which gets sliced to order.

The veteran deli workers are great. There seems to be high turnover on the fresh workers, high stress environment and all. The times I've gotten a "skimpy" grinder, it was still more substantial than something from the subway across the street (which I'm surprised gets any business.)

All in all, it's usually a great value, if you happen to be in the neighborhood give them a shot. They are a little bit of everything in a little bit of space.

Veggie World is completely a healthy place they do NOT make their meatball grinders in a microwave you must be nuts to think that. We have a pot with the meatballs right below the microwaves and the bread is fresh everyday . Trust me this place wouldn't get 100% from health inspectors every time if it wasn't . Thank You and I hope you guys come back and try our amazing and good priced grinders (: remember free soda included

I've never actually been here, but I searched it because I've heard nothing but positive things about this place. HUGE grinders for really cheap! And the meat isn't that cheap gross quality. Can't beat that!

I completely disagree with the prior review. My whole family LOVES their grinders, and have been repeat customers many times over. All their produce is fresh and very good quality. The employees are personable and very helpful. There is a wonderful assortment of ethnic foods and the prices are great. If you want value, cleanliness, assortment and a welcoming atmosphere, get to Veggie World!

Do not recommend

Definitely NOT the best grinders around. Bread is chewy, not remotely fresh. I tried two grinders today- one was a meatball grinder, which was heated in the microwave!!! What kind of place is this? Customer service was horrible. More importantly, Veggie WORLD? You would think they sell a lot of vegetables right? The absolutely NOT. At the most less than 10% of what the average grocery store has. Waste of drive to this place, waste of money~ but I guess there was only one way to find out.
