I received my bill on 2-17-15 with a due date of 2-20-15. Please mail the bills in a more timely manner so people don't get stuck paying a late fee. Or, better yet, offer customers the opportunity to pay online like every other company today. I normally prepay for 3 or 4 months in advance. Today my bill was $1.27 and if my bank didn't offer bill pay there was no way MU would have received my payment in time and thus would have charged me the $5 late fee.

Dear Customer, If a late fee was applied to your account in error we would have removed it. If your envelope was postmarked a day or two before and or after the due date then this may be the reason you received a late fee. Please in the future mail your payment out a few business days before the date. We have no control over the mail and the time it takes to receive payments or statements. You are more than welcome to contact the office to see if we can help you further. Other options to pay your bill are: cash, check, m/o in our office or in mail, automatic draft from your account each month or online bill pay thru your bank website. Marion Utilities, Inc.

Has anyone else been charged a late fee for a payment that was NOT late? They charged $5.00 because my check "didn't arrive". So I mailed another check...plus the $5.00. They suddenly "found" my first check and cashed both of them. But didn't give the $5.00 back. And what if I would have put a stop payment on that first check? Even more money lost! Yikes

The only major down fall is you cant pay your bill online. Its the only check i write.

The web link provided is NOT for Marion Utilities in Ocala, Florida! I was SO happy I thought they finally got online bill pay and then realized this was for a company in Indiana!!
