Buyer Beware. Our volunteer fire department had wonderful dealings with this company in the past as we had purchased batteries for portable radio systems. We sent out the batteries to them as they are now operating under the name Cordless Renovations for a rebuild. The owner quoted the rebuild of three Dewalt 24V XR+ Fan Cooled NiCd BatteriesModel STR0242 at $125 per battery pack with about a two week turn around time. These batteries were being rebuilt to power our Stryker Power Ambulance Stretchers in our two basic life support ambulances. The batteries were sent out in early January 2018 and the owner email promptly on their arrival to inform me they had been received. When nearly a month had passed with no word, I being to call and email the company and received no response from the owner. When I was finally able to get through during the last week of August, I was told that the batteries were just completed today (Wednesday PM) and they would be sent out Thursday. The owner told me he would send me the shipping information by email once he sent them out. Weeks went by and throughout the month of March, several members of the department called, left messages, and left emails with no reply. I even sent messages through Facebook to the business and even found the owners personal account and sent it to him. Finally, one of my EMS officers were able to get through to an employee who said they sent the batteries out to a third party company to do the rebuild have not heard from them, and that we should call an 800 number they provided to inquire into their status. The 800 number was just to an automated recording that said to leave a message. I immediately called back and got voicemail and left a nasty message as the story had changed from what I had been told. Later that evening, I received a call from the employee apologizing for the delayed service and poor communication saying that this was not the way they normally did business. The next business day, the owner called back and apologized and said there had been confusion, that he had the batteries at the business but had experienced an extensive back order on the Panasonic cells he needed to complete the rebuild but was expecting them to arrive in the next day or so. I reluctantly agreed that if the lines of communication remained open and the parts were received in a timely manner that we needed the batteries immediately as this prolonged rebuild was now having an effect on our ambulance operations. He agreed but after another week with no reply to messages or emails, I provided an ultimatum to complete the work by end of business on April 13 or we did not want the batteries. I do not even know if the message was ever received as I never received a reply. Steer clear of Battery Central LLC and its new name Cordless Renovations or you may have the same experience we have. Our department now had to fork out hundred of dollars in new batteries as we could not even get the old batteries returned to be rebuilt elsewhere.
