I went to Joba back in 2010 and she did such a great job. I recently went back to her a few weeks ago and the service was just as great. I got the tree braids that were curly and she did an awesome job. The braids looked very professional and I received numerous comments.

Unhappy

When i went to Joba hair braiding I got the medium size Senegalese twist, they looked really cute for about the first few days then about two weeks later after I got my hair done the braids that were done on my edges came out because the braids were done improperly. Also my hair shed for about 2-3 weeks because they put a lighter to my braids. And the whole time I was there the hair braiders talked amongst each other constantly . They were never quite so therefore they became some very slow and bad hair braiders. They also had their bad kids running around crying and messing with stuff so occasionally they would have to stop to get the kids to sit down or whatever. I thought because of all these good reviews that they were going to be good but they weren't. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE.

OUTSTANDING WORK!!! Joba does the BEST sew in's ever. I moved out of STL, however I still come back and let Joba do my sew in. I tried other hair salons where I live and they do not do such a detailed job. My sew in is always nice and full and I can wear it up in a ponytail and not have to worry about tracks showing. Also around the border of your hairline tracks are invisible, she sews and blends things the best.

They did take the time to answ...

They did take the time to answer all of my questions, but the staff was not very friendly. Indeed they only spoke amongst the other hair braiders. But I was disappointed when I asked her not to braid certain areas of my hair too tight (the edges), the hair braider let out a deep sigh and rolled her eyes at me as if I was getting on her nerves with my request (especially since it was the only request I made). After about 6 or so hours of braiding kinky twists, I fell asleep only to awaken to her running a lighter over my braids and burning the hair. When I pulled away and asked her to stop for fear that my hair would catch on fire in light of the moisturizing products in my hair, she insisted that she was "only" burning the synthetic hair to "make them look neater" and not my actual hair. I told her that no other hair braider has ever burned the synthetic hair to "make it look neater". They simply use scissors to trim the stray synthetic hairs. Sure enough when I got home, my hair shed constantly for about 2-3 weeks, and it was a combination of both the synthetic hair and my own hair. I have never experienced anything like that ever and I've gotten my hair braided several times. I will never visit them again. I was very disappointed with their service and outcome of my hair. Everyone should be aware of this salon.

Best Braiders in Town

Simply the best in town. Before going to Joba Hair Braiding, I tried many braiding places around St Louis. Then I met this sister at the mall and her braids were so fine. I asked her who did it and she said at Joba Hair Braiding. When I called to make an appointment, the sister on the phone was very helpfull and I could say she know what she was talking about. I was very happy with the work and I keep going back and I recommend Hoba Hair Braiding to everyone of my girlfriends.

First Class Job

I was referred to Joba Hair Braiding by a coworker who has been going there for 6 years. The first thing that striked me when I called for an appointment was the warm and professionalism of Miss Joba. She clearly answered all my questions and made some recommendations. On the day of my appointment, I am glad to tell everybody that I was extremely pleased with the job and the friendliness of the staff. Everything worked wery well for me.
