I LOVE this place and the people who work there. After much research, I decided to board my Siberian Husky with the staff at Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital. She has been staying with them when I am out of town since she was 8 months old. I would recommend their boarding services to anyone! The staff is friendly and remembers me and my dog, and my dog is ALWAYS excited to come! So much so, she cries until I get her out of the car to go inside! It is evident that everyone there truly cares for my dog. Dr. Brian is always polite and easy to talk to, and the ladies behind the desk are always eager to help. The staff in the back love to tell me stories of their time with my dog while boarding and I've never had a negative experience. We love Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital!

I took my 11 year old dog here for vaccinations after using a vet in Little Rock all of my dog's life because we moved. He had never had a reaction to vaccinations. Lake Hamiltin animal hospital gave him 9 vaccinations (this includes one DHP vaccination of three). My dog became extremely sick and had to spend 4 days here receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, pain meds, etc.

In my opinion the welfare of my dog was not the top concern. It is my opinion, after thorough research, that they completely over vaccinated my 11 year old, small breed dog who was at the highest risk for vaccination reaction and should have been only given the core vaccines. If you love your pet, stay away from this business. The website looks great, so I took my sick cat Molly here. The staff took her away from me for her labs and exam. I could here the vet behind the walls referring to "the cat". After a very long time, she was brought back to me, lethargic, could barely stand and later covered in diarrhea. Our visit was $271 dollars. I was even charged extra for a platelet count which is part of the cbc panel that was drawn as well. The vet was arrogant, showed no compassion and clearly a business man. Even registration paperwork asks for personal information such as your ss, drivers lic #, and work info. ??? I should of seen the red flags, and wish I had been warned.

I haven't owned a dog since my 14 year old Blue Heeler passed away back in 2007. I just recently replaced him with a maltese puppy a few weeks ago to fill the void. I used Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital faithfully years ago, and that hasn't changed one bit. Just as amazing as ever with their smiles, services, and heart. Looking forward to at least another 14 years of having them on speed dial :)

I couldn't be happier with their services. I left town on business for a few days and not only did they groom my poodle, but they provided room & board for her and applied all necessary vaccinations in the process. I came home to a very clean, happy, & healthy Misty and that means the world to me :)

I was recommended to try their clinic on Airport Road from a friend who had a great relationship with them. I have never been raised around or owned animals before, so I had a million and one questions about how to raise a puppy. Dr. Brown was very patient with me, speaking to me as if we had been friends for years. She even recommended a book that is already making a positive impact for me. I am very fortunate to be a part of the whole experience.

Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital has been a true pleasure to work with, and has taken the weight off myself and my husband's shoulders. We spent a fortune on our english bulldog last year for my son's birthday, and her health is very important to us. They have followed up with us like clockwork to handle all vaccinations and checkups when we could have easily forgotten due to our extremely chaotic schedules, and have gone out of their way several times to remind us that we are more than just a number to them.

I have used the services of Dr. Brian and Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital since I moved to Hot Springs in 2007, and I could not imagine using anyone else. I am a firm believer that actions speak louder than words, so before you take any review into consideration you should pay them a visit and let them show you in person just how genuine, professional, and personable they really are. I can assure you, you will have a whole new respect & appreciation for who they are and what they do...

Very sad at how unhelpful they were and how little the staff knew about wennie dogs. The vet tech said she didnt know wennie dogs could have wire hair. How sad is that. I was a vet tech for many years and you are expected to know just as much as the vet. Wont be going back

DO NOT TAKE YOU PET HERE, THEY...

DO NOT TAKE YOU PET HERE, THEY WILL KILL IT!!! I moved to Hot Springs and rented a house straight across from Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital. At the time I had a 14 yr old Boston Terrier who was the glue in our family and a five year old Boston Terrier who had been with him since the day she was weaned and sold to us. Our children was 19 and 25 yrs. old so our nest had begun to be empty a lot of the time. My husband and I took Ozzie and Abbie to the clinic because we were new and didn't know any of the vets. They gave Ozzie a rabies shot that was a different brand than the one in his records he had always taken, and by the next day, I knew something was wrong. At fours days, I took him back to the clinic and told them they had to do something, the shot they had given him was doing something, he had gained six pounds in 4 days. All they were interested in was all the test that they would have to run and told me all this stuff about, they would have to do one test, then they would have to do another one and so on til I knew they were just trying to make money. My old vet helped me look up one of her college classmates and she was at Countryside Animal Clinic and she was great! She got all his records talked to other doctors and decided to test him for cushings disease. Ozzie tested positive with not the atypical blood work so we started treating him right away. We called Lake Hamilton and told them that their shot had set off cushing's disease and that Ozzie was very sick. They said well you should have brought him back after it happened. I was like you goofy people, don't you remember, I brought him back after four days and all you wanted was my money. I think vets should have to warn you that rabies shots in older dogs can cause them to come down with different diseases and sicknesses. My complaint is they did not care about him, they just wanted my money. Ozzie died 2 months later on August 14th and I hold this clinic to blame. If they would have looked at the records I had transfered to them and gave him the same shot or would have warned me of the dangers, or even cared when he got sick, but they just wanted to make sure that I got my bill paid. Now the Parish family has a hole in our hearts that can never be repaired, only healed over with a large scar. I rated one star because it wouldn't accept my review with none. They rate a ZERO!

Very disappointing experience....

Very disappointing experience.

I have been here a few times and have had a different vet each time, two of them were employed there and the other was filling in for a few days. I have liked the ones that I have had in the past but apparently they have both "moved on" which should make me wonder about the hospital. The receptionists are pretty nice. The assistants are ok, some don't seem the most friendly, but contact with them is short.

But my most recent experince was a deal breaker and it was with the practice owner, Dr. Brian Peters (He goes by Dr. Brian). He is very loud, over the top, and pushy. My dog had a skin infection and he walked in and said "WOW" and proceded to tell me this is horrible and he acted like this is the worst thing he has ever seen and made me feel horrible. After a very expensive treatment and the problem clearing up in a matter of days. I decided to do a recheck at another clinic because I didn't want to have to deal with Dr. Brian again. Dr. Brian told me to recheck in one month but only a week had passed and the skin was cleared up. My new vet clinic treated me well and talked about the problem and causes and they told me that after getting the records and seeing the dog a week later, that there is no way it was as bad as Dr. Brian was telling me it was. They had me continue the meds but not for the full month that Dr. Brian sold me. My dog has been doing very well in the month since.

To sum up it is a fairly clean clinic, the receptionists are nice, the techs are ok, but unless you like a loud guy making you feel horrible, I would suggest going to a different clinic. There are some other great choices out there.

Caring Vet with a Big Heart

Dr. Brian has the biggest heart of any vet I have known. He loves all animals and gives them the same care he gives his pets. He treats your pets like they are your family. I take my two cats to him and only him. When I lived out of state and was in Missouri for a couple years I would make a trip to Hot Springs if my cats needed vet care so they could see Dr. Brian. Very clean clinic and professional staff :). I give it two thumbs up and my cats give it two paws up (they don't have thumbs lol)

Dr. Brian Peters and his professional staff have taken excellent care of my pets. We have used this clinic for normal preventative care and in emergency situations and have always been treated with compassion and care. They are great with communication and follow up also. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone and am glad I have a place where I can take my pets to that I trust.
