Highly qualified professional staff that have worked directly in the areas and with the professionals that will impact your loved one's quality of life Chanda Crutcher, Huntsville's first Certified Care Manager and Alabama's first Registered Guardian started American Senior Assistance Programs as a fulfillment of her belief that she was called to serve. Chanda's love for Seniors and those that are disabled began as a young child. Her commitment is to through service, educational instruction, and advocacy to Change the Way America Ages. Mrs. Crutcher holds a B.S. degree from The Judson College for Women in Marion, Alabama. She has received licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator in Georgia and as an Assisted Living Administrator Level II in the state of Alabama. As founding Director of American Senior Assistance Programs, Inc she is the Editor in Chief of the All American Senior consumer resource guide. Her professional experience has been in senior service and long term care for over 10years. She is certified as a Professional Geriatric Care Manager ( PGCM ) by the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers. She is the first PGCM in the Huntsville area with this distinction. Mrs. Crutcher is currently the only Certified Guardian in the state of Alabama and serves on the Regional Board of Directors for the Alzheimer's Association's Mid South Chapter, the local Alzheimer's Association's Advisory Council, Planning Committee for the Alabama Successful Aging Initiative, and a member of the area Council on Aging. Professional Affiliations: National Association for Professional Geriatric Care Managers ( link ), SouthEastern Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers ( link ), and National Guardianship Association ( link ). Janet Hurley Janet Hurley joined ASAP in January 2007 as a geriatric care manager. She has a master's degree in sociology with specialization in Medical Sociology and Gerontology from Virginia Tech. Her love for geriatrics has given her the opportunity to work with seniors in a variety of health care settings which include: hospital, nursing home, acute rehabilitation, and a retirement home. Perhaps the most influential was a specially designed, dementia- specific assisted living/long-term care facility that operated in conjunction with Johns Hopkins Neuropsychiatric Department. This setting generated a true passion for those suffering from memory-impairing illnesses. These varied health care settings have provided a wealth of experience for a career in geriatric care management. Alison Doyle has a BS in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. Her work at the Turner Geriatric Clinic at the University of Michigan allowed her the opportunity to work with older adults and their families in a multi-disciplinary setting.
