In this business like so many others, I must subscribe to this logic. Here are some tips and information to help you get the answers and specific professional service you need for your Pool Table. To the most popular question (s), "How much" to: move and set-up, move to storage, recover (install new material on bed and rails) with out a move or during a move, level an assembled table, assemble and level a table that is not assembled; (placing slate on an un-leveled frame does not qualify as "assembled"). Knowing the following before you call will help me give the fastest, most specific answers...Thanks for reading :)! All pool tables are not created equal, like a loaf of bread or a car, there are many makes and models; that being said, size and type are the two most important factors that dictate cost of the aforementioned services. How to determine the size of your (assembled)table: Measure the width of the PLAY-field in the following manner; in inches, at the WIDTH, from rubber cushion tip to rubber cushion tip, (where the ball touches/bounces the rail). If you do this correctly you will only get one of the following: 38", 44", 46", 50" or 56". This measurement will correspond accordingly: 38" X 76" is a 7ft. "Home Table" 44" X 88" is a 8ft. "Regulation Table" or "Standard 8" 46" X 88" is a 8.5ft. "Oversize or Pro Regulation Table" or "Pro 8" 50" X 100" is a 9ft. "Tournament Table" or simply "9 foot"...think ESPN 56" x 112" is a 10ft. "Snooker or Antique Pocket Table" (uncommon) There are also 10ft, 12ft. and 14ft. Snooker, Billiard, Antique Tables, (uncommon) The most common are the "Standard 8", "Pro 8", "9 foot". The bigger, the more labor, the more material, the higher the cost. A TIP: The Avg. length of a std. cue stick is 57", therefore add 5ft. all around the PLAY-field of your table to determine the size of room needed. As far as the type, modern or antique is a major factor but an uncommon one; of course most of the market consists of modern tables; that being said, tables built 50-100 years ago require special tools for antique hardware and more labor generally due to larger, heavier frames, and thicker slates. A TIP: In my Opinion, Solid hardwood tables last longer and hold their value longer than those built with other materials such as particle board, plywood, Formica...think fine furniture. Other Service related cost factors: Ball return system or drop pockets? Ball return systems require more labor. How many flights of stairs? Is or will the table be indoors or outdoors?
