The people are always friendly and as a prior customer (our current cat named Max, formerly named Shadow) we couldn't possibly be happier with the furry family member we adopted from this facility!

went to look to adopt a dog 3 times, what do they do with their animals, they have more people working there than animals, what is going on, to get donations they show all those needy animals when in reality they had just one dog in the shelter, what do they do with them, my friends will not give donations anymore, they make you feel that so many animals need home to get donations

I have adopted pets from the Humane Society in Newington for over 30 years. The animals were all healthy and their characteristics were accurately described before I took them home. Both times I adopted a dog, the Adoption Counselor met with me while I spent time with the dog. At the second adoption, I still had my other adopted dog, so the Counselor had me get him, so that they could put the two dogs together to make sure they got along. My two dogs -- a Chihauhua/Mini Dox mix and a Jack Russell/Chihauhau mix BOTH lived to be 18 years old.I would never buy a dog or look for one anywhere but the Connecticut Humane Society.

healthy cat

I adopted a cat from here and she had all her shots and was very healthy. Customer service was very good as I have children and they helped us pick the right cat for our family.
