We visited Johnsons in North Berwick on a recommendation. We ordered "baked haddock" and after taking a few bites we both commented on the fowl ammonia smell. We were told that it was the dishwashing solution on the plates... I believe it was BAD fish...

This restaurant is first rate! There's a wide choice of seafood, steaks & pasta with a casual atmosphere and friendly staff. I've had both lunch and dinner and the portion sizes are enough that you might not be able to have dessert! Weekends can be busy but it's well worth the wait.

it is out of the way....but, worth the trip. the food is outstanding & plenty of it! Fogarty's has met its match....this is so much better!
