Took my pet there for an allergic reaction after a couple days of giving Benadryl and no improvement. Vet refused to give him steroids as requested like past vets have and only prescribed flea medication and said it's either fleas or environmental causes. No follow up from vet like most do- 3 days later my dog's reaction hasn't settled and is actually worse with more hives. I call in and ask for a follow-up visit. Told I have to wait a week (and take more time off work to take my dog in) or I can come in but have to pay extra fees for the emergency appointment. I advised this appears to be a mistake of the vet as I asked to get more treatment but am still told that regardless I have to pay extra for the emergency visit if I want my dog who is breaking out in hives to be seen within the week. Definitely, do not recommend as mistakes by their staff are not handled properly and my pets health doesn't seem to be a priority, only a way to make profit with emergency visits.

To maggie3399 with the cat eye...

To maggie3399 with the cat eye problems... she lied to the Dr., to the Technical staff and tried to give her cat away to a stranger in the lobby.

She outright refused treatment, saying the cat didn't need eye medication. Refused to try the medication when their was no improvement, then made up a story about her cat falling from a tree - whom she claimed was an indoor only cat!

What can you do with someone like this?

Don't believe them, that's for sure.

The only good thing about this...

The only good thing about this place is that it's 24-7 so they are there in an after hour emergency. That said, you are playing Russian roulette with the vets. Some of them really suck and have no actual diagnostic skills beyond taking X rays. My dog is dead because this hospital failed to correctly diagnose a bee sting. The vet didn't even take a second to listen to the symptoms I discribed but rather gave an X ray my baby's foot and then went off on a tangent about how the dog needed expensive knee surgery. The original reason I came in was ignored (at the time I didn't know about the sting but a vet certainly should be able to recognize obvious symtoms). So when my dog got stung again, he was dead within 12 hours and I had an unpleasant experience then with them also as they let him stay in the waiting room until he was destabilized. These people suck. Do not go here unless it is an after hour emergency and even then, pray like hell you get one of the few decent vets. I plan on never going back.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I took my ...

DO NOT GO HERE!!

I took my cat in for an eye problem that had just occurred, and the Vet. was incompetent. I had to point out that the cat's eye was swollen, the vet. didn't even notice even after I listed it as a symptom. My cat's eye did get better, but her pupil was still dilated larger than the other one. I called back because it was concerning. I spoke with the dumbest vet. assistant, Monica, who had horrible communication skills. She told me the swelling was from a drug called Atropine. I called back 2 days later because the eye was still swollen. (it had been 5 days since atropine had been put in her eye) I specifically asked to speak to a Vet. No one called me until 2 days later, and it was daring Monica again. She would not listen to me, could not answer my question, and was very nasty. She kept telling me to come back in, and became totally belligerent because I kept asking her why a pupil would be dilated and that was just to hard of a question. When you have a symptom there are reason for it, and I just wanted to know some causes of why a pupil would dilate. It got to the point that she was yelling at me, and I yelled over her to just have a Dr. call me. Imagine that no one ever called back.

Oh and while I was waiting in the waiting room the reception starting talking about how dumb all the people from Sandy, OR are that come in there. She was not even trying to be quiet about it. Totally unprofessional place all the way around. The vet couldn't even see obvious swelling!!

Good Experience

We were referred to Dr. Ost when our Scottie ruptured his cruciate ligament. They got us in promptly and Stewart had his surgery the following day. We were given a detailed estimate and were asked to pay up front. When the surgery was over, they had not used all of the equipment / medication on the estimate and we were promptly refunded the extra. We dealt with many people at the clinic, and with one or two exceptions, everybody was caring and efficient. Stewart's surgery went very well and he has healed nicely. We did run into some attitude from one staff member when I wanted to remove his sutures myself instead of driving the long distance for only that purpose and was finally able to convince the staff member that I was competent to assess the incision. Other than that, I have no complaints and would go there again.

they are awful and full of disgust. lady tells me 60.00 for the visit when i am done she tells me its really 72.00. the estimate for all the tests and for their incredible knowledge for a cat was 1600.00. unfortunately kimba left without help i hope he does not die like his father did. i used their facility with him also. he died a horrible death at home. the doctor could not understand why i was upset that the cat had died.
