Laxton's Auto Repair got me good. I broke down on my way to VA for Thanksgiving because a faulty injector. I was told that the best way to go was to replace all 8, and that Ford won't even replace just 1. I found out today from Ford that was a lie. So after getting all 8 replaced I called to check on the status of my truck and was told that I needed a fuel and oil filter and an oil change. So after $5,250.00 worth of repairs my family made it back to MI and 5 days from the day I picked it up it went down again. Took it to my mechanic here in MI and while he was diagnosing it found that the FICM was not mounted down correctly. After getting new batteries and it still not being fixed found that it may be the Glow plugs. When getting into that job my mechanic found that not only was the FICM's mounting bolts broken but the grounding wires were not grounded at all. In speaking to Laxton's, he stated that the vehicle came in that way which he didn't inform me of and it was never annotated on my service report. So he will tell me that I need 8 injectors, an oil filter and oil change and new fuel filter but won't inform me that the FICM had broken bolts and not grounded which if you read any Diesel forums says that after any service is done that the FICM has to be re-installed correctly or it can short out because internal damage. Tried to have Laxton's remedy the situation by sending me a new FICM and I will pay to get it programed and get it installed and he said it's my problem because I bought a lemon and he wouldn't send one. As of now because I found out from Ford that he lied about replacing injectors and didn't inform me or annotate it, I wonder if his mechanic broke the mounting bolts on my FICM, and didn't ground it correctly. Needless to say finding out all of this made me think back to the one small nut I found under my hood and the dirty rag I found it in. Thanks Laxton's for being a stand up shop that you can't count on for quality repairs and obviously doesn't back up the work they do when they cause further damage by half assing the job.

Thought I would respond on here also so people don't miss my response to the response given by Laxton's since they have 2 different YP. So Laxton's did tow me but not for free. My insurance covered it and I made sure before his tow truck showed up so towing out of the kindness of his heart is a lie. Also I did thank him for the help he did give me with a Christmas card but I included paperwork stating that the FICM on my truck NEEDS to be mounted correctly to protect it from internal issues. Think of my FICM as a laptop and basically instead of it wrapped in padding and strapped down while driving off road it is just bouncing around and that is why it is broken. Any other GOOD shop will inform you that something like that, when found, NEEDS to be mounted down. Laxton's didn't. He said it was like that so they just threw it back in as is and now I am out of more money getting a new FICM because Laxton's thinks that what they did is good business. I did contact him about all the issues and was told it was my fault for buying a lemon and the prior owner and mechanics fault but not his. The fact that even on this site he admits to not informing me about the FICM makes it his fault but once again I asked for just a FICM from him and I would pay for the work and his response is no. BTW if you are having issues if you need a courteous tow I would suggest Laxton's tow because he has courteous drivers but the maintenance part is crap. He lies, he doesn't fix mistakes when they are his fault and oh BTW he guarantees his work...... Only in his shop so don't get any work done if you are passing through because the only way he will fix his mess up is in his shop so being I am in Michigan and if anything happened to my injectors that were marked up a LOT I would have to tow it from here to WV.

Mr. Dickman I understand that you feel as though we did not live up to your expectations, and for that I apologize. My company strives to provide the best possible service to everyone we meet. In your circumstances you were broke down and I passed by to offer assistance. I had your vehicle towed to my shop, at no expense to you and your family, I quickly diagnosed your truck within an hour of having it picked up. I gave you and your family transportation to a rental car, at no expense, and QUOTED the repair of your truck, telling you that the #7 injector had failed. I quoted both the parts and labor to change just the #7 injector and the price to change all 8. This certain repair I know is expensive and that is why I left the decision to you, and you decided to complete all 8, this is the decision I would have made had it been my vehicle. The issue regarding the FICM, we unfortunately did not notify you that it was damaged, but your truck particularly had several issues from someone working on it prior to us completing the repairs and we did not want to seem as though we were just attempting to take advantage of you. The point I am attempting to make is that we cannot be responsible for issues regarding your vehicle that we had no involvement in damaging. If there is ever a issue regarding the repairs that we made to your vehicles fuel injectors only, my company will honor the agreed upon warranty with no questions asked. As for the rag that my mechanic left I apologize it was a honest mistake as well. Anyway I can assist you further in the future feel free to contact me directly and I will work with you to resolve any issues, Thank You Sincerely Laxton's Auto Repair.

I went to Laxton's because there was looseness in the steering and a vibration when I stepped on the brake. They were supposed to pick up the car, do an estimate and return it to me so I could make it to two doctor's appointments later in the week. They towed my car on Sunday afternoon and kept it. I missed my dr.'s appointment on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I got a ride out there, sat there for 4 hours, and then they told me they didn't get the part and I had to go home. They swore it would be ready by 10 a.m.Thursday and they would bring it to me. They brought me the car at 5:30 Thursday evening, saying they had just spent 1-1/2 hours doing a front-end alignment. The steering wheel was pointing at 10 o'clock when the car was going straight before, and it still is. No brake work was done and they left grease on the seatbelt and floormats and broke a piece of the trim under the windshield. I missed both dr.'s appointments. Never again.
