Looks Nice - Terrible Customer Service

I was looking for a secure RV storage facility. Richland Airport Mini-Storage touts security and is beautifully landscaped. Unfortunately, there have been many issues and customer service is sorely lacking. There is only 1 employee that I know of, Steve. Some issues I have encountered: The security gate not working and standing open for days possibly weeks, on several occasions. Not necessarily management's fault but when security is played up so heavily and then the gate is standing wide open, well it doesn't set well with me. Especially considering the location doesn't have traffic for someone to notice wrong-doing.The security gate not closing properly allowing someone to slip through with it "closed". The response I received was "I know it's that way and I won't be fixing it. If you don't like it you can go elsewhere." Really? Wow, security measures went out with the bathwater quickly! The exterior gate mechanism held together with rope. This is just disconcerting. Can someone remove the rope and trigger the gate open without a key card? Will a heavy rain cause a short and no tenants will be able to get in?The pedestrian gate left open. Again disconcerting. Absolutely no effort needed to gain entry. Most recently, an attempt to steal fuel from my RV. It's very obvious it was not animal related. Yes, Steve actually offered this explanation, unbelievable! I say attempt because it is unclear if the vandal was successful or the fuel loss drained out due to his efforts. Result, fuel is missing and replacement of damaged engine parts was necessary. Steve's response, "without a specific time frame there is not much I can do". He was unwilling to search the video. In the end, in what seemed an attempt to mollify me, he said he would "take a look". I can imagine how extensive that "look" will be.Steve almost never answers the phone. Without a maned office, tenants do not have immediate access to a person. I have even had no return call after phone messages and emails. Every time I brought security issues to Steve's attention his reaction was indifferent to agitated. Usually starting at indifference and ending with agitation. Mostly agitated that I am not happy with his indifference. Every issue brought to his attention, without exception, he claims repeatedly that he has never had any security/theft/vandalism problems before. That is a nice record but implicating something can't happen because it hasn't happened before is illogical. I have never had any heart issues. That doesn't mean I can't have a heart attack. In their "Multi-Layered Security System" it is written "You can be rest assured that we make security of your belongings priority number one." I don't think so. There are 6 security features listed. Upon further review, 1 out of 6 applies to vehicle/RV storage, the fence/gate. And that only works if it is properly closed and, well works. "Richland's Finest Self Storage Facility" is written at the top of every page on the website. Fine looking - definitely, fine RV pull-through slots - I agree since they are difficult to find, fine security - not so much, fine customer service - definitely not. What should you know before doing business with Richland Airport Mini-Storage? You probably are not getting the security you think. The card swipe turns off the alarm for your unit only, that's good. This feature does not exist if the gate is left open due to malfunction. The Security Alarms are only on Premium Units (pay extra). It says they are on a "monitoring system" but that is useless without a live person monitoring (remember the phone). Steve's knowledge of the security cameras was less than satisfying. The website states "they are an effective deterrent". This leads me to believe they are there only for show. How much good are lights with no camer...
