      This place has THE BEST meats anywhere. Their deli meats are the best quality, and I am now ruined from ever eating hamburger, steak, or any other cuts of beef from anywhere else. They're small and not a discount place, so it's tough to do weekly shopping here, but they try to stock a variety, they're responsive to feedback, and they have some amazing specialty items. This is the best example of IGA done right to meet the needs of its community.

      Gabriel's Supermarket Gabriel's Supermarket has been serving the community with the finest quality meats and produce since 1956. Gabriel's located on Curry road in Rotterdam was opened by Rudy Gabriele Sr. and his father William Gabriele. In 1978 Rudy's two sons Rudy Jr. and Jeff took over the Rotterdam store. The store was expanded to our Scotia location in 1986. Both stores have been family run and operated with four generations of Gabriele's for more than 54 years of business. Gabriel's Supermarket prides itself on carrying only the best meat and produce around. Our meat is always Certified Angus beef which is used most often to make some of our most sought out specialties like our World Famous Sirloin Pinwheel steaks and our World Famous Gabriel's store made Roast beef. Gabriel's Supermarket has always been community minded supporting our local school districts with sports and club events by making donations and getting involved with local activities. Every year we have an annual Customer Appreciation Week in which we not only have outstanding offers for our customers but give back to our community with a special Kid's Day planned with events and free food and a two day barbeque where everyone is welcome to join and celebrate another great year with Gabriel's Supermarket. In 2008, Gabriel's Supermarket was honored and awarded with the USDA food and Nutrition Service's Golden Grocer Award by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This award has been received by only two other grocers in the nation. The U.S. Department of Agriculture recognized Gabriel's Supermarket as a "positive environment for all of its customers, including the disabled and the poor." and went on to further commend us for providing home delivery service for our elderly and homebound customers. Many may not know that we have such a service but we serve over 20 customers weekly with our delivery services in order to help our customers who love our products but have a hard time making it in to our stores. We want to thank all of our Customers for their years of dedication to our stores. Gabriel's Supermarket looks forward to many years to come in serving our customers and our communities around us.
