We have gone to this reataurant several times and it has been totally enjoyable until tonight it was a celebration of my birthday my daughters mother-in-laws birthday and my daughter and her husbands anniversary. The service was great. However I ordered the seafood platter and was totally disappointed, everything looked very overdone and the coating on the fish was very thick and tasteless. Maybe it is because whoever is doing the deep fat frying is not that experienced at it but I will never order this again it is not worth the price and it is not enjoyable.

Steaks were phenomenal, served on a superheated lava rock! Great salad bar. Can't ask for more for after a long ski day.

Instant mashed potatoes so watery I had to use a spoon. Overpriced and slow rude service.

Have eaten here twice now, the first time Oct 31, a group of 6 and everyone loved their meal and we had great service. Two of us had steak "on the rock", it was awesome, two had the Jack Daniels steak tips and loved them; the chicken marsala was good and the salad bar outstanding! The 2nd time Nov 6, a group of 3 and great food again but the place was packed so service was a little slower but not unrealistically so. Tried the scallops and the Argentinian steak and really enjoyed them. This is a great food, good service and a nice atmosphere. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great meal at a reasonable price. I'm headed back SOON!!!

This was a great place to eat. We had excellent service from our waitress, Donna. She was doting, but not hovering...perfect! I had never had steak cooked on the "rock" and it was a wonderful and tasty idea! Our appetizers were very good. The service was fast, but not pushy at all. Plus it's fun to slice and cook, drink and chat and just have a good time in general! The portions were generous, the salad bar was great. The waitress told us that all the salads are made in house. july 29th,2011. My wife and I had the twin lobster special. On both of our orders one lobster was good and one was bad. The tail section looked like it was meat from a tuna can. My wife complained to the waitress and she took hers back to the show the cook and they gave her a replacment. When I showed her mine she also took it back to the cook and he said it looked fine. I have not ever had service this bad and for a $10 lobster, they will never see us back. And believe me I will spread the word.

Saturday June 25,2011: first visit. Liked the atmospher. Had a terrible waitress... she did not introduce herself. No name pin.We ordered. Entries brought to us before she had cleared our appetizer plates or salad bar plates, thus causing US to have to clear and make room! She later reached across my plate I was eating from to refill my water glass.The meal was mediocre.Escargot had a funny smell and did not taste like any I have ever eaten! Chicken breast was thin,and dry .Slightly overcooked.. Rice pilaf was clumped together and pasty.When the waitress brought the bill and we were getting up ready to leave we see a full board of listed Specials that we were not even told about !!The waitress did not even ask if I wanted to take any of the food on my plate home,which I did not,but had she asked I might then have said No,and told her how unsatisfying my meal was. The toilet seat in the ladies room was broken and I literally almost FELL off it as it shifted on me Lobster tail was good.

The salad bar is SO TASTY & HIGH CLASS! The times we've been we've seen fresh marinated fiddleheads, fresh marinated asparagus (whoa baby!) and a variety of other exquisite items such that even a vegetarian would keep coming back here! Right down to the grapes used in mixed salad offerings- No seeds, No twigs attached to the grape - Not even 1 ! Details are spot on!

Excellent food and service! We were very pleased. Nice salad bar. Steaks on the rock were excellent. I had the NY Strip & my wife had the Argentina steak. Both were tasty, and we cooked them to our taste at the table. This is a unique and fun dining experience. The triple layer chocolate cake and coffee were delicious. The wait staff here is very friendly and knowledgeble about the menu, making for an enjoyable experience. Prices were reasonable (2 steaks, 2 beers, coffee & dessert for less than $50. We eat out a LOT, and this was one of the best meals we've had. We highly recommend the Black Rock.
