      General Info
      Located in Tacoma, Wash., Jefferson Elementary School was founded in 1905. It has an enrollment of more than 150 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school conducts classes in math, science, English, art, health education, and general and social studies. Jefferson Elementary School also provides accelerated reader and pre-kindergarten programs for children up to the age of 4. Its facilities include an instructional activity room, library, computer laboratory, playground and classrooms. The school additionally maintains a therapeutic learning center for students with behavioral disabilities. It promotes students participation in various enrichment activities, such as community service outreach programs, musical shows and art workshops. Jefferson Elementary School has a parent-teacher association that provides financial support to the school. It operates under The Tacoma Public Schools, which maintains over 50 educational campuses that serve nearly 25,000 students in kindergarten through grade 12.
