I"m sure these complainers went somewhere else. I had to take my dog in for emergency at 4am on a Sun.and all the Vet and his Asst.wanted to talk about was helping him. I wish I remembered their names but it doesn't matter. In been their for3 different procedures and they have always been great. The counter help also pleasant, professional and careing. If not a little busy from all the happy customers I might add that I talk with in the waiting room.

So at the Del Prado Location, some of the staff was really unprofessional. (In particular the older woman with big eyes, blondish hair). Forgot to catch her name as my intentions were not to write a negative review. It's very unprofessional to get onto another employee, especially one that seemed new, in front of the customer that it had to do with. Poor lady was almost in tears as this other woman made both of us feel really bad about "me" coming 10 minutes late and not running it by the doctor. I was so close to telling her that she had no right to be so rude! If you are tired and stressed, don't bring it to work- go home.
Next, there was an issue about "price matching". Now, I am 100% sure that when I made the appointment I was told that they do this. Therefore, because I heard about you on 105.5 earlier that day I decided to switch over to your office since you would price match that procedure. Sounded great on the radio PLUS price match! Why not? I didn't have the name of the person that told me about the price match over the phone, but I did have the exact time I called to make the appointment. Besides, in my office I have my staff initial beside who schedules the appointment so we can always back track to whom made the appointment. Anyhow, that's neither here nor there. They shut me down so quick like I was crazy. they were shocked that I was even saying that, disregarded it like it was nothing and so I ended up paying the highest fee out of all the Vet's in the area. Approximately $40 more than the rest. I'm new to the Cape, so I called about 6 offices near me. Besides that, I do have to say the the Vet himself and his Tech were nice gentlemen. They seemed very kind and friendly.

I recently had to say good bye to my beloved springer Gator. Though out all his problems with being a diabetic....Dr. Monte was always there with concern and availability. She would always take time to work him into her busy schedule. The staff are great. I never encountered a rude employee or a non caring one. I will continue the care of my Brittany with them and any future four legged baby.

I've been taking both my dogs to Viscaya-Prado Vet Hospital for nearly a year. Their services are overpriced and the staff, especially some of the vet techs, are rude, ornery, and uncaring. The vet did not even care when I complained about the cruel mishandling of my pet by one of their techs. I took my dog back several times for the same problem and they continually misdiagnosed the problem leaving me with a hefty bill each time. I cannot recommend this place to anyone who cares about their pets. Money seems to be the inclination here, not the wellness of your pet.

The Best Veterinarians in the Cape!

Dr. Milton McKelvie has been our White Knight in shining armor several times since we've moved to the Cape! Our beloved golden choked on food at 14 yrs on Memorial Day. It was closing time at Viscaya Prado when we rushed to their back door. They were compassionate and made Dakota's last moments on earth respectful and gave us all the time we needed. We have taken our cat, our pup and our foster, never have the staff been rude, uncaring or hurried us. They are a class act! Our family is honored to call Viscaya Prado Veterinary Hospital our furbabies Vet!

I bought a siberian which I love dearly from Dr Janice Hughes. Her vet (Milton McKelvie with Viscaya-Prado) issued a clean health certificate the morning I picked the cat up. The next day I took the cat to my vet and found out it had a bad case of conjunctivitis (pink eye) and an upper respiratory infection. He also had quite a few live fleas, had not been given all his vaccines per the health certificate and no rabies vaccine which is illegal in FL. He should not be enabling this breeder to sell sick cats.

I would leave no stars if I could. They are so full every day of the week, I guess their motto is QUANTITY not QUALITY!! I would rather take my pet to the other side of the state then to go wait for hrs for the sub treatment you get here. Guess that is why they are rude, the ladies are stressed out and overworked!

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! If you valu...

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! If you value your pet, please go to anyone else! They are rushed, rude and miss what is obvious to other vets. I know because I took my dog to a different vet and was given a completely different treatment plan and meds. When I called VPVH for my dog's records, they were not ready even 3 hrs after they said they would be, the staff was rude, and come to find out, the only thing on my dog's records was the initials of the vet who saw him.....nothing else!!!!! No reason for the visit, diagnosis, treatment, etc.....NOTHING!!! The most unproffesional business I have ever seen. In it for $$ only...certainly not the animals!

Dr. McKelvie recently attempted to provide treatment to my `15 year old Mainecoon cat Jazmine. McKelvie, ran blood work and confirmed the diagnosis of renal failure , but then sent his vet techs in to pump her full of sub Q fluids (according to another vet, enough to treat a horse )He took no time to explain the disease, what to expect, side effects of treatment, warning signs, No informed consent! He spent a total of 4 minutes with my cat. She ended up dying two days later in a traumatic scene in front of me and my family. She drowned on the fluids according to another vet. I knew she was going to pass, but not like that. McKelvie did not take time to explain any of the treatment, That is what I pay for... not a vet tech. He provided poor care to Jazmine.
