High Pressure, poor customer service experience.

Very high pressure. Very profit motivated. Would not recommend. I went to Automotive Central on Hickory Grove Road.I have an old car. I was looking to keep it "limping along" until we could afford a newer car. I explained that to both managers. I recieved a quote that was 3 times my target price. In addition, they priced more repair then requested. After I commented, it was over my price range, the one manager told me it was in the best interest of my kids to get the repair completed. After I told him I drive alone, he replied that he drives on the same roads, and would appreciate if I get it fixed.I told him to leave the keys in the car, and I would pick it up after hours. I went to Automotive Central. Got an oil change and brakes/rotors for 1/3 the price of Tuffy.

Tuffy's tuff sh*t policy

I am at a loss as to how this company is still in business. Their biggest liability is their incompetence. I have a fair amount of automotive experience and I can tell you right off the bat that lifting a car by the pinch weld will only end in damaging the body. Here's my story. I bought a 2001 jetta. Understanding that the car had an exhaust leak and transmission issues I still bought it. Fist addressing the transmission I put the car on jack stands to check the ATF and inspect the trans for leaks and damage. After getting the transmission addressed I took it to Tuffy to have them look at the exhaust leak. They pulled the car in and put it on the lift closest to the waiting area. As the mechanic put the car in the air he stopes at about 5 or 6 feet up and put the car back down on the ground, came in the office and brought the man in the office out. They stood next to my car briefly before putting the car back up in the air. The mechanic looked at the exhaust for only a minute or two before putting it back down. The man from the office came in and said the whole exhaust needs replaced and he wasn't sure if he could get the parts. I told him to call me and inform me of the price and availabilty of the parts when he finds out. I never heard back. I decided to repair the exhaust myself and went to put my car on the jackstands again when I noticed what all the fuss was about at the shop. The mechanic had smashed the pinch weld flat with the pedistal of the car lift. The damage was not there prior to them having it but was once I got it back. They deny damaging the car and I have no physical evidence to talk them to court on for the damages. There are plenty of shops in the area, avoid this one.
