We needed to have a bathroom vent and light fixture installed. An electrician from Groff Electric came to my place and gave me a bid. He said it will be about two hour work and the charge will be $150 plus $75 if we ask him to work on the duct. Our contractor worked on the duct so the charge should have been only $150. When he completed his job (took him less than 2 hours) I was going to write a check, and he said "my company will send you a bill." The bill came and it was $275.89 before tax. I thought there must have been some kind of mistake, so I called the company. The owner answered the phone and he was so rude. He said,"oh, do you want me to come and take them down then?" You can't conduct business this way. The cost should have been within the original estimate since I did not request anything additional. I will not recommend hiring Groff Electric to anybody.
