Salon Vox ruined my hair. I went here last year as a Valentine's gift from my boyfriend to get my hair bleached blonde. I have dark brown hair and wanted a change, and this is not my first time bleaching my hair so I knew that my hair could handle it. I decided Salon Vox because of all of the great reviews on google reviews. So I went ahead and called to get a price estimate since the online pricing said $60-$200 and they would not give me an estimate. I went ahead and made an appointment and decided that if it was over $200, we would just cancel (we are both college undergrads and cannot afford luxuries like this often). When we got there, I talked to Brandon (my stylist) about how we can only afford $200 and no more. After we mentioned this, he became very cold and seemed upset that we wouldn't spend more and that we had a budget. It took about five minutes to get him to promise that it would be no more than $200.

After Brandon put on the bleach, he set my hair on top of my head, put on a plastic cap and set me underneath their heater. After about two minutes, my head started burning so I just figured it was because the heater was hot. I moved out of the way of the heater but my head was still on fire. After about another minute, the pain was excruciating so I jumped out of the seat, tears pouring from my eyes and took off the cap. Steam was literally pouring from my scalp. Brandon was no where to be found (outside smoking) and it took about a minute to find someone to help me. After he washed the bleach from my hair, he pretty much told me that this was my fault. That I used "cheap dye" and not because they placed bleach right on my scalp and then placed me under the heater with a plastic bag on to intensify the heat. I could literally feel every hair follicle move on my head.

He made his assistant blow dry my hair. The assistant styled my hair for THREE HOURS, the entire time pressuring me to buy their products. We didn't leave until an hour after they closed the salon.

The next day I showered and felt that my hair was goopy. It was impossible to brush and I had to go out and buy a children's comb and leave in conditioner in order to even slightly get through the tangles, which never dried or became untangled. My boyfriend called Salon Vox and they told me that it was because I washed my hair (again it was my fault apparently). That night, I told my friend how my hair was stuck to my scalp, but I figured it was all the product he had put in the night before. She looked at my head and informed me that it wasn't product but my skin forming over my hair. Turns out Salon Vox gave me second degree chemical burns and the assistant knew (which is why he spent three hours blow drying my hair) but decided not to inform me. I had blisters covering my head where Brandon had laid my hair, and they were so bad that I had to go to the doctors to get an antibiotic to reduce the risk of getting an infection. It took three months to get rid of the blisters, two more months to get rid of the flaking from the new skin forming, and my hair was still goopy and stayed wet all day. I finally decided to get a hair cut so I went to Orbit Hair Design where the stylist there informed me that they had killed my blew out my cuticles, it wasn't from washing my hair. The only way to fix it was to cut off about 8 inches of my hair and it still wasn't completely fixed then.

Salon Vox has lied to me, literally hurt me, and blamed me for everything while being extremely rude. They also still forced me to pay the $200 which I now regret doing. They put me at risk of getting a serious infection and knew of my burns but decided not to inform me which could have caused me to bust a blister and get sick. I know this will never happen to everyone, but I needed to share my story. This place ruined a year of my life, and has ruined my trust for any hair salon.

My Daughter went there, nearly had her hair pulled out during cutting. The Hair care professional was male with shaved hear, not personable, very rude, and over charged for his services. Would not recommend him. My daughters girl friend went the same time and had a great cut and style with a woman that worked there.
