Following his return to civilian life from military service in 1997, Robert T. Prior founded the firm as a solo practice. Known at that time as Robert T. Prior, LLC, the firm practice area was almost exclusively in the area of transactional work. In 2005, Michael C. Daniel left the firm Fortson, Bentley & Griffin in Athens and joined Mr. Prior to form the firm Prior & Daniel, LLC. As Mr. Daniel’s practice was in the area of business and commercial litigation, he established an Athens office with an emphasis on litigation.Morris H. Wiltshire, Jr., Mo was appointed by Governor Perdue as Solicitor-General for Athens-Clarke County in 2005 and served in that post until January 1, 2007 where he lead the office charged with the prosecution of all matters in the State Court of Clarke County and Athens City Courts. When his term as Solicitor-General expired, Mo resumed the private practice of law by joining Prior and Daniel, whereupon the firm became known as Prior, Daniel & Wiltshire.The firm originated in our Madison office, which is located at 288 South Main Street in a historic Madison home. The office contains spacious areas for client meetings and is well staffed with two attorneys, paralegals and support personnel. Our Athens office is located in the Cheney House at 490 N. Milledge Avenue. With the firm interest in historic preservation, the restored Cheney House provides a wonderful work environment for our attorneys and ample meeting space for interaction with clients. Housing three conference rooms, four attorneys, paralegals and support staff, the Athens office is well equipped to provide a wide range of legal services. In 2009, in response to the demand of national and international clients for an Atlanta office, the firm opened an office at 3475 Lenox Road, Atlanta, Georgia, located, in the heart of Buckhead, directly across from Lenox mall.While attorneys from the firm can provide all legal services in this location, the office focuses on representing clients in complex business litigation including: employment, copyright, trade-secrets, non-compete and solicitation agreements, corporate dissolution and many other areas of business disputes. The office is easily accessible from the Hartsfield/Jackson Airport using the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Association (MARTA) and is conveniently located within walking distance of a number of five star hotels, including the Ritz Carlton and Intercontinental Hotels.The firm also maintains an office in the Lake Oconee area.
