      Kalamazoo's little secret

      Concealed inside a strip mall lies one of West Michigan's best restaurants. Originally opened as a largely vegetarian restaurant, the Bistro has changed to a much more traditional but eloquent fare. Everything from steaks to salads with feta or dried cranberries/sugared almonds. Several prepared fresh homemade soups are available. The daily specials are as delicious as they are creative. Give this little place a try. You'll be glad you did.

The dishes here are crafted by Chef Ryan Soule who has captured and further developed a vast knowledge of regional cuisines that inspire the menu at Oakwood Bistro. From the blackened salmon with a fresh mango pico over a jerked sweet potato and bacon hash to the clams and baccala, these are just a couple of the dishes guests have loved the most.
