I highly recommend Dr. Tan. He is a superb professional. I’ve had dental work done in several states, several countries and Dr. John Tan really impressed, he is by far one of the top dentists. His professional expertise and care are commendable. I am so glad that I found this dentist because he corrected many of the mistakes or poor dental work performed by other dentists.

took my family to Dr. Tan and were extremely please with his professional expertise with his staff and his setup where you can actually watch TV laying in a supine position he took the time to explain the diagnosis and the reason for doing the procedures a big thumbs up for my families dentist

General Info

Dr. John Tan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He then attended the UCLA School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) in 2011. Between September of 2009 and June of 2011, Dr. Tan completed three dental internships: - Cal State Northridge University Klotz Health Clinic (Northridge, CA), - VA Long Beach (Long Beach, CA) - King/Drew Hospital — Department of Oral Surgery (Los Angeles, CA). Dr. Tan made a missions trip to Vietnam in July 2010 where he performed extractions and fillings for children and adults. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Tan contributed to numerous chemistry and dentistry journal publications, including: “The Use of Slow Heating and Slow Cooling Regiments to Strengthen Porcelain Fused to Zirconia”, “Gas-Phase Acidities of Cysteine-Polyalanine Peptides Part I: A3,4CSH and HSCA3,4,” and also “Determination of the Gas-Phase Acidities of Cysteine-Polyalanine Peptides Using the Extended Kinetic Method.” Dr. Tan moved to Texas in 2011 and worked at several private practices before opening Xpress Dental in 2012. He has extensive knowledge in the fields of reconstruction, pediatric and aesthetic dentistry. Dr. Tan is also licensed in Oral Conscious Sedation. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association and also the American Association of Endodontists.
