Provided by YP.comI had the pleasure to visit the Bay of Pigs Museum in Little Havana, Miami, in mid- July 2022. Rather than just having trained museum representatives provide short discussions on the history, artifacts, and legacy of the Bay of Pigs event, two veterans of the operation led us through this remarkable museum. To state the interactions with these freedom fighters were informative would be a gross understatement. Critical operational and tactical details filled the dialogue as well as extraordinary comments on the Cold War context.
As importantly, on display were also the patriotic and courageous ideals of Bay of Pigs Brigade 2506. Unfortunately, their high character and courage are lost in revisionist histories that depict Communism as nationalistic and progressive rather than a movement responsible for worst bloodletting in history--over 100 million deaths and still counting.
I highly recommend anyone visiting Miami take the time to visit and support this museum, particularly the young who are too often denied critical historical information that calls attention to the individual freedoms that are rapidly eroding in the current political climate.
