General Info
Dr. Norman Yung is the senior dentist at Franklin Dental Care. He was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and moved to Hong Kong to attend high school before returning to Vancouver, Canada to complete his Pharmacy degree in 1988. Wanting something more hands on, he moved to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He excelled in his studies, and was one of 4 students chosen from the class of over 130 to do his clinical training at the prestigious and more rigorous faculty practice facility instead of the main clinic. He completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree in 1992. He then moved to Los Angeles to complete his General Practice Residency at the University of Southern California in 1993. In 1996, the lure of the fog and the regions reputation for tolerance and acceptance for diversity brought him to the San Francisco / Oakland Bay Area where he now lives with his wife and two teenage children. Dr. Norman Yung has been in private practice for over 24 years, and has honed his art to the point where his patients are cared for with confidence, compassion, and precision. His philosophy is to be proactive and ideal. He practices no-compromise dentistry. There is only one way to do dentistry, and that is the Right Way. He is especially proactive in dealing with gum disease, the painless disease that destroys the foundations that support the teeth. He believes open communication is critical to a good relationship with his patients so he will patiently explain in understandable terms what the issues are, and how he intends to proactively re-establish health. Communication is always a two-way street so he welcomes any and all questions.

My experience with the entire office from when I'm welcomed through the care I get is always wonderful.
DDR Yung was very knowledgeable and let me knew of the different options I had.
Dr. Yung was very great at explaining the details of my diagnosis to help me understand and the actions I have to take for healthier teeth.
After new insurance and a long lapse in time between dental visits, I brought up the courage and finally went in. I found Dr. Yung's office after a disappointing experience elsewhere, and was intrigued by how highly his staff spoke of him. While I still don't like dentists, I'm glad I found one that makes it much more pleasant. He and his staff obviously know what they're doing. Back on the 6-month schedule.

Dr Yung has been a fantastic dentist. I have been to multiple dentist but none have given a better experience than Dr Yung. He listens to your issue, offers clear advice on how to fix it and does amazing work. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a honest and great dentist!
My kids and I have been seen by Dr. Yung for the past couple of years and we love him. He's very professional and personable. He is thorough with his explanations and knows his stuff. The entire office, from the receptionists to the technicians, are super friendly and respectful.

dr. yung has explained all of the procedures that i have had very cleary. all of the staff are very friendly and helpful when i come in for a visit. the dental assistants allow me to listen to music in my headphones while i am having something done. i am pleased with the service i have had.
I drive all the way from Vallejo to see Dr. Yung. He explains in detail about your issues and what you need done. He is very welcoming and is staff is very friendly. I will be a continued client of his. Everyone in his office gets an A+. :)
Norman is awesome because he is actively makes conversation and makes you feel comfortable from the start. He was also quick to diagnose problems and how we could fix them/improve my dental health. I appreciated the clarity and the encouragement. He made sure that I felt supported, which was the most important thing.
