This is the best Mexican FOOD in Vista that I have had if not the best in North County. My recommendations are El Chile Relleno. Dona Blanca, the owner and chef, makes one of the best Chile Rellenos that I've ever had. It is always a pleasure to eat at El Puertesito. For some reason Yahoo has it as Restaurante Mexicano and it truly is a Mexican Restaurant, very Original. Other things you can have are the flautas (role tacos), home made and also the enchiladas Rojas (red enchiladas) one of may favorites. You could also have the costillitas de Puerco, Mole rojo, sopes or huaraches, everything that I have mentions is all prepared daily and hand made. I have not even mention the meat, Steak Ranchero one of the best, as well as the usual, Burritos, tortas etc... If you do order a plate all is served with beans and rice and hand made tortillas that are made as you order you food. You don't find hand made tortillas around San Diego county very often unless you are at Old Town, but even the food there is no as fresh and home made as the one in El Puertesito. If you ever drive by Vista, don't for get to try this food. Is the best you will have without going to Central Mexico. Dona Blanca gets all her recopies from her mom in Queretaro, you will not find better food. Happy eating...

If you are looking for a really good authentic mexican food restaurant, then this is definitely the place to go. It is located in vista in the mcdonalds shopping center near vista high. It is a little taco shop but sooo good! The place is family owned and operated and they make everything from scratch daily (tortillas, soups, etc..) It's hard to find a good little taco shop that has excellent flavor and this place is seriously the best. They have everything from tacos, to sopes, to chile rellenos, everything homemade. I go to this place at least once a week because its so good and tasty. I would definitly recommend this place to everyone who loves good mexican food!

The Food is very authentic. The Chile Reyenos and Enchiladas Rojas are some of my favorites. The Tortillas are always hand made and very tasty. You will not go wrong with this small hole on the wall in Vista.
