At Premier Physical Therapy, you are treated as an individual. Our patient-centered care means you are very involved in your own treatment. We want to focus solely on you with the best quality treatment. Dr. Karr, does not believe in No Pain, No Gain. She believes in first minimizing pain, through use of hands-on therapies including massage and joint mobilization. She then focuses on gaining strength and flexibility through individually designed exercise program that fits the patients schedule and goals. This approach allows you to recover more quickly, and avoids compensation patterns that can occur if strengthening is introduced before pain control. Dr. Karr does not simply look at one body part - she looks at how the rest of the body affects that part. Working with the entire body helps prevent reinjury. With over 28 years of experience, She has served as a mentor, consult to other physical therapists and a clinical instructor for Duke, ECU, UNC and Howard University. She also has assisted in teaching physical therapy continuing education courses. Many of her patients are physical therapists and physicians seeking an expert to treat their condition. She has worked with all types of patients, including professional dancers, skaters, athletes and stunt performes.She has served backsgtage for several productions including A Chorus Line and Marvel Universe Live.She is the proud PT and sponsor of our wonderful Cape Fear Blackhearts-Wilmington's roller girls.In the short time she has been in Wilmington she has already helped local athletes at the middle school, high school, college and professional level get back their game.
