Last week I had my GMC Jimmy t...

Last week I had my GMC Jimmy towed to the Bruneel on Chinden. An hour and a half later I was informed that it had either had a gasket failure or a cracked head, because all the coolant had drained into the oil. It would be minimum $2,500 to fix it or replace the engine. I told them no, that I would just salvage it and get a new car. I was then offered $125 for the car by one of the guys working in there for salvage. I told them ok, but was then later offered $250 for it on trade for our new one. I returned the following day to clean out the vehicle and when I went to tell them that I was trading it in and the dealership would be around to tow it away on the following Monday, I was suddenly told that I had to pay an $85 diagnostic fee. A diagnostic fee that hadn't been mentioned until I told them that I was trading the car in to the dealership rather than selling it to their service manager for $125. I mean really? $85 for what? You can tell it has a cracked head and all the coolant dumped into the oil with one look at the dip stick. If these guys spent more than five minutes looking at it I'd be shocked. Is this really how you treat your customers? I'm really angry at this $85 charge. $85 to look at a dead vehicle for less than five minutes is ridiculous, and I don't think I should have had to pay it. I did pay it at the time because they said they wouldn't release the car if I didn't, but I'm extremely angry about this and I want a refund. This is no way to treat your customers. I've had that vehicle in there many times in the time I've owned it for repairs, but after this, I'd never take another vehicle there ever again, and I'll be sure to spread the word about my experience unless you guys make this right. No company should treat its customers this way. I submitted this exact message to Bruneel through their website, and a week later have received no response from them whatsoever. Avoid this company like the plague. My wife is the controller at a local business who used to have commercial work done at Bruneel as well, but no more. They're using a different shop now.
