General Info

The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority, MFA, provides quality affordable housing opportunities to the people of New Mexico. Programs include down payment assistance, rental subsidies, home rehabilitation and weatherization, homelessness assistance and prevention and funding for affordable housing construction. Created by the state legislature in 1975, MFA is a quasi-governmental, self-supporting agency. We partner with a network of real estate professionals, nonprofit organizations, service providers and governmental entities throughout the state.
