Preparation Step by Step 1. Pressure Washing - if applicable - all areas will be power washed with a commercial grade power washer to remove all loose paint, dirt, mildew algae, dirt and/or salt deposits. If needed additional washing will be done by hand with a combination of bleach and detergent solution. 2. Coverings/Protection - all surface and landscaping areas will be covered with tarping prior to painting. We use “painting - tape” to protect areas that can not be covered with a tarp. 3. Remaining Loose Paint and Rust - will be removed with a hand scraper or wire brush. 4. Priming - all bare wood and metal will be primed with appropriate primers. Horizontal areas where water may sit and rusting exists will be given two coats of primer. 5. Caulking - joints and seams will be caulked anywhere that wood meets wood. A top grade latex caulk will be applied prior to painting. 6. Downspouts, Address Numbers, Mailboxes, etc - will be removed by the team prior to painting. Painting Step by Step 1. Aluminum Siding - will be sprayed to avoid brush strokes. We will add emulsa-Bond to help adhere paint to the surface Wood Siding - applications are on a home - to - home basis. Most houses will be sprayed but back rolled and brushed to receive maximum amount of paint on surface. Applications on wood siding will be outlined on each individual proposal/bid sheet. Wood Trim - will be painted by hand and worked into the wood grain. Stucco - will be sprayed but back-rolled and brushed to receive maximum amount of paint on surface. 2. Ladders and Walk Boards - will be used to prevent overlap marks. 3. First coat of paint or stain will be given sufficient time to dry. 4. Our team will clean up as it finishes each side of the home. All materials will be cleaned up and stored away before the end of the day.
