      Great!

      I went in thinking I had hip problems. After a thorough exam and X-rays Dr. Parker could tell it was actually a spine problem. He recommend a exercise regiment for me. After a few weeks the pain was no longer a problem.

      Excellent Orthopedic Surgeon & Amazing Office!

      I have been here multiple times for injections into my shoulders and my wife's knee's, anytime we have to go in for an appointment it's been great! I highly recommend Dr. Parker and his staff to take care of all your orthopedic needs!

      Dr. James Parker is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who was born and raised in the Texas panhandle and graduated from Hereford High School in 1988. Growing up on a working ranch, he recalls his dad teaching him several lessons he termed “justification for a higher education.” Taking these lessons to heart, he went to college at Baylor University with the goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. He graduated from Baylor in 1992 with a degree in Biology, and was admitted to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 1996. He stayed in Houston and trained at the University of Texas Health Science Center for his internship and residency. Dr. Parker is very involved in the local community; he is the Sports Medicine team physician for West Texas A&M University athletics as well as Eastern New Mexico University athletics, the Amarillo Venom and the Amarillo Bulls. Since 2013 Dr. Parker has spent 2 weeks per year setting up a hospital in rural Guatemala with his friend Jay McCown a surgical technician from Panhandle Surgical Hospital. Over the years, they have been able to perform many different types of orthopedic surgeries. Dr. Parker is married to Chelsie Parker and they have 4 children. When he is not working, he enjoys spending his personal time with his family, travelling, playing soccer and reading. Dr. Parker enjoys seeing patients of all ages, and sees both traumatic injuries and degenerative conditions in his practice. He specializes in shoulder, hip and knee surgery. He performs arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic shoulder stabilization, arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL), multiligament knee reconstruction, and meniscus repairs/meniscectomies. He also is very proficient at total joint reconstruction of the shoulder, hip and knee. Additionally, he treats common conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, ganglion cysts and tennis elbow.
