Not US pros, more like Iraq contrators then good subtly strong exec-protect guys. I bet they all have CIB badges, but scored low on the ASVAB. Their shop is the best in ANC for mil type stuff; better then the cr.ap shack down the street and the crazy Russian place. And if you miss the bit.ching of your old infantry company go hang out there. I have purchased stuff at the shop for good prices (but they made them up on the spot, no tag or anything. I guess the prices are variable based on YOU). Like everything else in town choices are limited, if you need it, go there. If you don't like guys who miss the juice of a combat mission, this is not the place for you to shop.

I have made several purchases - first rate Milsurp. Very vet friendly - hippes, not so much, paintballers/airsofters and wannabes, not at all. Prices are fair, no more expensive than mail-order, sometimes less. Vets get a discount, whicn varies. Active suty get discount. Hippies do not get a discount. Yes they have funky posters, thier shop, thier space, thier say. Get over it. Bottom line, current milsurp, in good shape, at a good price and knowledgable staff - it all good to go.

These are the people that have made the word "operator" and "tactical" sour in the mouth of anyone who takes this kind of stuff seriously. Taped to their door is a sign saying "this is not a *#&%ing museum, don't come in here to just look at stuff," which to me, created a nice, amicable atmosphere conducive to the exchange of goods and services. I then went in looking for a 1911 concealment holster, to which the chubby man decked out in multi-cam told me "we only deal in tactical gear, and concealment ain't an option when you're tactical, bro." Stupid question on my part, I guess, being an OEF and OIF veteran... I then told him I guess I would look around the store for a little bit. As I perused the store, finding several items I was interested in, I heard the previous man and another clerk loudly talking about why there's "so many $&%*ing 'just lookers' today." Half their items are without price tags, and what does is 50% too much, so not desiring any further interaction, I left.

Dropzone is by far the best place for surplus in the anchorage/matsu area. Veteran owned and operated, great prices for new and used equipment. If you're a joe needing gear for CIF or for a deployment this is the place to go. They even will come in during non-standard hours for servicemembers that need equipment.
