- Dental ExaminationProphylaxis (cleaning) appointments and dental examinations can be scheduled Monday-Thursday with one of our experienced hygienists and Dr. Dailey to help keep your smile healthy and beautiful. We may also take a set of low-dose radiographs to monitor for decay, bone loss, root resorption, and other pathology or defects, to ensure you’re receiving the most comprehensive care.
- FillingsAccording to the FDA, amalgam fillings contain approximately 50% mercury and 33% other metal alloys, such as silver, zinc, copper, and tin. Recently, there has been public concern regarding the leakage of mercury from this filling material, but the FDA has concluded that there are minimal negative risks regarding amalgam toxicity and bioaccumulation to humans from placement of amalgam fillings. However, if an existing amalgam/silver filling is compromised (fractured, broken margins), there is increased risk of amalgam leakage and the development of decay.
