The Jefferson Market and Cakery has delicious breakfast brunch items! Sunday is busy and always worth the wait! The family is so nice and helpful, you can tell it is a family owned business. The cakes are delicious as well. When I ordered one for my son it turned out wonderfully! All of our guests were pleased. Mary is so friendly, it is definitely a place to visit, and I is one of the best jems found in A2.

NOT impressed at all. The cake I ordered for my wedding was supposed to be 5-tier with pillars and bright flowers and what I found when I walked into my reception was about 2.5 feet high, no pillars, pastel small flowers. I was so disappointed. At that point it was too late, so it was just a huge bummer in my otherwise perfect day. And the cake tasted as though it had been frozen. I was not impressed- beware.

I agree with the other review....

I agree with the other review. The person (Mary?) is not a pastry chef, but claims to be one.

She is not a pastry chef

Mary is a very nice person, does nice work. But as her website indicates, she is not a pastry chef, but a cake decorator who has taken a few classes. Not nearly the classes a pastry chef takes to classify her as a pastry chef.

This summer saw a change in ownership, but longtime fans should not be concerned. New owners Ed Green and Angie May bring plenty of passion for food, as well as many years of experience managing Bette’s Oceanview Diner in Berkeley,CA. Regulars will also be happy to hear that Chef Dugan Walser is still holding down the reins in the kitchen, cooking up favorites like the Huevos Rancheros and Buttermilk Pancakes that The Jefferson Market is known for. Breakfast is served all day, Tuesday-Sunday from 8am-2pm, so come on by and check it out! This summer saw a change in ownership, but longtime fans should not be concerned.
