Excellent material choices for $2.99 a yard now, but still well worth the time to stop! Beautiful batiks, tone on tones and now many choices with METALLIC in the colors. Seasonal material, young children material and then material for doing over furniture all for $2.99 a yard---Can't be beat! Great work ladies! Keep up the great job JAQ

I needed 10 yards of material to make a cover for a couch that is white with a pastel print on it and I don't want it to get dirty. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it.When I went on line to see if there was a fabric store that had material more reasonable than Joanne Fabric I came across the 1.99 Fabric store and thought how good could this store be and how much material could they carry, but since it wasn't that far away from Uxbridge and I needed 10 yards of material I figured it could be worth the trip. Well it sure was. I was so excited and wanted to buy out the store. There is such a large selection of material in every fabric and color. I like to see and feel the material I am buying. This store is great, the people that work there are so helpful and pleasant. It was a great first experience and I know I will be back there in the spring for curtain material and take my granddaughter for Halloween costume material. You can't beat these prices anywhere that I know of. Vic

I have been to this store several times and have never been disappointed, I have passed out many of their business cards and have sent many people from Vermont down. Love the fabric and have a hard time buying anywhere else!. Keep up the good work!

Local, friendly ladies at the cutting table. I can go down the street and purchase the same material at Wal-Mart for $4.83 to $7.98 a yard and can get the same material at the $1.99 store. I've washed the items that I've made and still standing up. Service is great and they are knowledgable about figuring out how much material if you are unsure. All in all I'd tell anyone to check the store out!

Very disappointed in some fabric I bought here. I believe it must have been defective. Literally fell apart....I could easily poke my finger through it. Do you purchase defective or seconds to sell?

I was very surprised on the variety of fabrics available, notions and the quality of the fabric. I enjoyed the store. The quantity and variety EXCEEDED my expectations. Make sure you have time to browse there is so much to choose from. I have been back twice since my first visit. I read the comments after I visited the store, there is not reason for people to be writing about "safety for children" If your children KNOW and WHERE taught how to behave in a public place there should be no issues at all.

I love this store! Great collection of almost all kinds of fabric. Plenty to choose. Very friendly sales people. They are always there to help and cut your fabric. If you are a sewer this is the place to go.

Fantastic store! Thought it was going to be a warehouse type outlet going by the NOT child-friendly reviews but this was not the case. This store is set-up no different than a Jo-Ann Fabric store....just much less expensive :).

Great store - a treasure-trove of fabrics. I was able to find a great piece to cover a bench-seat for just over $3 and nearly 5 yards luxurious heavy furnishing fabric for under $10! BTW the comment an earlier customer made about the danger to children of heavy rolls falling was ridiculous. They are all stacked carefully and safely. The only problem would be if anyone allowed their children to run wildly and jump on shelves.

the store has the best deal going for fabrics. You can find everything here, poor quality as well as excellent. It's a treasure hunt. Kids should be well-supervised, as there are loose bolts of heavy fabric standing in stacks and a kid could pull one over and get hurt. Since I like to concentrate when fabric shopping, I'd leave my kids at home, if they were still that young. As it is, they like to come and get inspiration for their own projects from the amazing array of fabrics available at a 'steal'. Joanne's can't touch this variety of garment-fabrics. Customer service here has always been friendly and speedy, in my experience. It might be different if I needed help selecting fabric or figuring out how to use it. I don't get the impression that the staff (other than the owner, maybe) are all that knowledgeable about sewing, or even textiles. I'm just thrilled that this store is giving Joanne's some competition, and they get my custom for that alone.

Store hours are 12-5 on Sunday, and every other day from 10-6. They lock the doors at quarter of closing to ensure that the customers inside have time to finish shopping and be checked out by closing.

The advertised hours for Sunday are noon to 6pm. I arrived at quarter of six but they had locked the door and told me through the glass that they were closed. Two women who had also been turned away said they couldn't get in either and apparently the shop does this all the time, giving the lame exude that the registers have to be closed out. My complaint is just that if they aren't going to let customers in after quarter of six then they should change the posted hours. I wasted a trip from Sturbridge!

I HAVE been to this store and you gotta know...its not KID SAFE. I 10 foot high fixture with hundreds of pounds of rolls of upholstery fabrics went crashing to the floor. Your 2 year old would be DEAD. Think carefully about what people could be telling you, besides discrimination.

I haven't been to this store yet, but can't wait to go. I also can't wait to bring my 2 year old. If he can't go, I'm not going. I like how people thing that their kids are so much more well behaved than the rest of them. Get over it.

As a customer, I am tired of adults that do not know how to make their kids mind. Keep them home! Shop alone. It will be a better experience for everyone. When my kids were young, they stayed beside me. Can't wait to visit this store!

Love it! I buy fabric weekly from other fabric store & online. I was apprehensive about going in to a store that offered $2 a yard fabric, I felt it would be a waist of time. But i was pleasantly surprised! I found fabric i used to sell myself for $40 a yard, one of my all time favorites. I will be making a weekly trip here and I will tote along my 2 year old niece!
