On August 21, 2010, I went to Squeeky Clean Car Wash located at 2009 Wells Branch Parkway, Austin, Texas. The Deluxe Wash is $8.00. I had a coupon for $2.00 off an automatic car wash, which I inserted into the dollar-bill slot and was accepted. The balance on the screen read $6.00, which I swiped my debit card to pay. When reconciling my transactions to balance my checkbook, I found that $8.00 had been charged to my account. I attempted to contact the car wash at 3 phone numbers I found on the internet, 512-670-3745 (disconnected), 512-990-2226 (disconnected) and 512-670-3781, which the 1st time I called rang about 25 times before disconnecting the call and on my second attempt, after approximately 44 rings, finally stated that this is a cell-phone. I am now disputing the charge through my bank. Not that $2.00 is a big deal, but it is the principal of it all. In addition, I don’t like places where I have to listen to people blast their music so loudly that my car vibrates.



The car wash in general was good, just pay cash. They have flooded the neighborhood with coupons and are making an extra profit on everyone who uses a credit or debit card, though because of issues like the people blasting their music, I wouldn’t necessarily feel comfortable having cash on hand there either.
