      Baldwin Park Community Development Department is responsible for overseeing the divisions of redevelopment, planning, housing, building and safety, and code enforcement to promote economic development and maintain livable communities in the region. It offers a wide range of community development activities directed towards commercial revitalization, managing development and building issues, creation of jobs, and maintaining strong neighborhoods. It provides general management, administration and support to various programs offered by the department. The department operates a housing division that offers various programs, including housing choice voucher program, public housing, home improvement loan and grant program, rental rehabilitation loan, and first-time homebuyer program. Its building and safety division provides services, such as issuing and inspecting building permits, respond to the loss and damage of structures due to natural disasters, promote and encourage the rehabilitation of existing structures, and promote public education regarding building laws. The department is headquartered in Baldwin Park, Calif.
