I took my sons vehicle in to get an oil change and the radiator flushed. About 30 mins later they called and said they were afraid that if they flushed the radiator, that if they loosened up rust I would probably blow the radiator and that I would likely need new a water pump as well. Then they proceeded to tell me the brakes were metal to metal as well, that I needed a brake job and rotors. So I said "ok, how much?" They replied 900+ dollars. I told them to just flush the radiator and I would worry about the water pump later. About 30mins after that they called me and told me that the radiator blew as they suspected it would. I told them to push it outside and that I would send a wrecker for it. So a day later, I had a friend drop me off, I popped the hood to see now signs of any work being done. Not a drop of water to be seen. I drove it home……still no leaks…or overheating. I flushed the radiator myself, filled it full of fluids. I have not gotten it to overheat yet. Oh….and the brakes are just fine. They will never see another vehicle of mine ever again.
